“British jobs for British workers”, er – um, ‘scuse me, I should have said EU jobs for EU workers. Isn’t it wonderful watching people like Gordon Brown, Peter the Baroness of Mandelson and the pro-EU BBC squirm now the reality of EU membership has shown itself in full and they are being forced to admit this is a problem created by the EU which the Government is powerless under EU rules to do something about. We have British workers coming out on strike all over the place over the matter of jobs being given to Italian and Portuguese workers to build the new Total oil refinery and our Prime Minister and all his Government entourage can’t do a damn thing about it. The EU rules, ok. Richard North has put a very gloating posting on his blog at EU Referendum, it is simply wonderful watching all those Europhiles being forced to accept there is an elephant in the room and its called the European Union, they can’t not talk about it now.
Peter Mandelson actually did the Norman Tebbit thing on the Radio Four ‘Today’ programme (Monday 2nd Frebruary) when he more or less said that British workers should get on the bikes and get jobs in other EU countries. Sadly, it aint as as easy as that. As many of us Euro Realists have been stating for a long time, due to language, cultural and other barriers, there will never be the mobility of labour as there is in the USA, despite the wishes and ambitions of the EU.
As Richard North rightly points out, Gordon Brown, who said he wants those British jobs for British workers, through EU membership has sacrificed a large percentage of his work and authority to the unelected EU. However, unlike our poor British jobless, he is still being paid even though he has a lot less responsibility than all other Prime Ministers at any other time in our history.
At long last the poor old duped on British public are beginning to have their eyes opened to the so-called “benefits” of EU membership. The question now is, will they have the courage to do something about it and stop voting for the three pro-EU parties, i.e. the Tories, Labour and the EU-fanatical Liberal Democrats and give their votes to the one political party which will be able to give those British jobs to British workers – the UK Independence Party?
